Correct. Too many people worry about what's going on in the other lane instead of concentrating on improving their own performance. The last few feet mean nothing if you haven't done your job to that point.

First let me say that I have nothing to gain if the tree's software changes, it's a change to make each racer have to take the chance at the tree. No free rides on either side of the tree. The change would have to have true win lights so that neither racers knows if the other fouled, making it a race to the finish line. The other part is take the technology, like the incrementations out of the race information and put all back into the racers hands to figure it out for themselfs. I think that there are some of the racers, that without the time increments, they wouldn't have a clue on what to dial from one round to another. Technology is great, but too much technology can spoil the sportsmanship in racing.
On Long Island we used to race with one dial for the day, I'm not suggesting that, that would be going backwards.

So a race that is over on the starting line is still run to the finish line.OK.When they get to the stripe neither guy knows it's a done deal already and one of the knuckleheads locks
the brakes up to make it close. Now you have a bad situation for no good reason.
Run a few scenarios through your head before you post suggestions for change.

As a bracket and class racer, I'm on my brakes almost every round bringing the other car in closer, if you aren't, you are not doing your job. So what's your point?

I see now......you don't understand how it would work.
Both cars would know the winner before they got to half track !! No need to jump on the brakes at the finish line......... geez Eddie Boy get a grip !!!

You still don't have it figured out..........sad !!
The INSTANT the second car leaves the line THE WIN LIGHT COMES on ....in the lane with the least infraction on the redlight.....
A CAVEMAN could figure that out.....I guess you're not up to that level yet !!! No GEICO commercials for you Dude !! :-)

Uhh Mr. Doesn't Race At All,No where in this thread ,except in your post, has the scenario come up that the win light would come up after the second car leaves the line.In Casey's
world he said BOTH cars would race to the finish line and they would only know who won when they crossed the stripe.
So go out your back door and shoot a couple of crows, cook them and eat them.
It must be terrible to grow old and need the feeling to be included in the gang at any cost.
