It's a powerful tool. Not a curve - straight line ramp. So if you have a car with 40 degrees timing and remove 10 degrees for 1 second your result is:
30* at launch 31* .1 after launch 32* .2 after launch 33* .3 and so on till 1 second out you are back to the 40. Regarding how much, I suggest starting with 6 degrees for for you 60' time.
