New track to built in Americus GA

Has anyone else heard about a new 12 million dollar track to be built in Americus GA or Sumter County GA. By second hand Info I was told that in a news paper in Americus that I think it said George Brice is going to break ground on a new facility costing approximatley 12 million at the end of this year.

This is second hand info so I am just wondering if it is true.

I answered my own question I would have copied and pasted but didnt know if that would be copy right infringement. So look up Americus Times-Recorder and its under " Star Racing to build a 12 million dollar facilitly in Americus. Dated Feb 8th

Just read the article, ambitious undertaking with a lot of pieces yet to fall into place. Sounds like George is wanting a "Brownsburg South" plus the road racing contingent similar to businesses like BBS at Road Atlanta. Proximity to Reynolds and Valdosta plus other smaller tracks could change the drag racing scene quite a bit. I'm skeptical about the viability of such a $$12 Million facility but it will be interesting to see how it progresses.
