There's nothing like a bogus hp rating to make a fast car.

Why not have Class Eliminations where the "fastest car" counts but when regular Eliminations start.....no heads-up runs. Then the bogus factoring and other "science" is not the factor, it is the driver and car together.
That would eliminate all the worry and guys who feel they have to stay home because they are .4 short in a heads-up run. I think you would get more cars to enter the events, drivers will win not AFHS-ratings and more new guys might build affordable combinations. I know this isn't a popular idea, change seldom is, but seeing the interest in Stock and S/Stock declining it could be something to change that wouldn't hurt anything and might help strengthen the sport. Jok (used to own a nice C/SA but getting "crushed" after towing 250 miles and ending up running some "bogus-rated" car or a guy who can spend $80K on a Stocker to go .90 under in a "heads-up run" during eliminations just didn't interest me anymore. ) Loved the racers I met and the fun of racing in Stock but not the politics, that simple. |

Jok, You are making too much sense. The problem is that if there were ten cars in a class, five would be for the idea and five would be against it. Guess which five would be for and which five would be against. But do not dispare, the tide may be turning.
