And I have even learned more than a thing or 2 from these "kids"
If you lump everone in their age group as idiots. Do you have kids?
The reason the import stuff didn't work is totally nhra's fault. It started off great, but nhra made all the "classes" pro classes. The factories got involved and chased everyone else out. Do you remember Lingenfelter? You guys complain about the CJ's and the DP's. Well racing the imports against the factories was like that but on steroids.
Someone said I should worry? I guess so, if you or some of the other heros on here built a car like mine I wouldn't have a chance.
Hell Art I just turned 33, I'm not far removed from them. But i know that if I want to see hilarity ensue, and mechanical carnage......go to the track on import night.

Chad you were not around in the 60's or 70's. You have no clue how much money I made because of stupidity. In the mid 70's we made 18,500 in one night a bit more than the W.R.Grace Cup.
Believe me those people back then were no brighter than the kids of today.
And there are others on here that saw that race.

i agree there, for sure. But this generation has a whole lot more lazy, and a whole lot less respect for rules. They'd rather bolt a turbo on a stock car and go fast, than build a stocker.

Chad you are the type of person that paid my rent back in the days. We never raced a car that wasn't sure they could beat us. Out of 100 or so decent buck races we lost 3. And we were far from the fastest car.
I proved how easy it was to get a turbo car to run. Even I made it go fast.
It is the biggest bang for the buck. And that's why they are stupid? Years ago people had junkyards to scrounge for parts. FLASH!!! They still do, but you ain't going to find a 60's musclecar in them. You find Neons, Hondas Etc.
If you think this generation is dumb. In my generation I made HP while almost everyone else made love (the flower generation)

Art: Back in the day, I would street race my stocker out on Long Island. I would have either the M&H street tires or 9" slicks and tiny headers, the first words out of the other racer was " are you going to race with those small tires?" . I knew at that point that they didn't stand a chance. I'd get the break and they were done fore!

NEWS FLASH ART. I built my best friend's low 8 sec drag radial car. Its a turbo fox body. the only thing you would have done was lost money to me. I'm more and more convinced that you have completely lost your mind. If there was a DEMAND for imports in stock/ss then maybe you'd see some.
