Default Bullet Mufflers for Stocker

Anyone here tried Dynomax pn 24219 race mufflers on a stock or super stock engine? Any change in performance? Need them for Irwindale testing.

Cool Re: Bullet Mufflers for Stocker

I've run those things for years. they take some of the staccato racket out of the exhaust tone, they don't seem to change anything, but mine are pretty short.I've never seen any difference in power or performance, in fact, I run my station wagon in the Summit races and never have an issue with noise.

I ran them on my V-6 Buick stocker and didn`t lose any performance.

On my wagon I don't see any or little change in 1/8 mile performance with bullet style mufflers. But I do enjoy having the exhuast exiting farther back behind me for noise in the car reasons. Plus I have extentions to where they make it almost to the rear wheels. It's not the worst place to add weight if you need it as well. But I would yank them off in a second if I was in a heads up class race just in case there was a few hundrenths difference just in case.

What I tried with my car,I took them off and installed a collector the same length and compensated for the weight difference(about 25 to 30 pounds total),car ran the same. I do like the sound of them too.

I ran the bullet mufflers on my SST car for years, no difference on or off, just the noise. I have Flowmasters on my Mustang and they slow the car .08 in the 1/4.

Gary, when are you going to Irwindale, would love to come out and meet you.

I'm a month or so away from running either car. Really anxious to meet you guys too as well as finding several "old" faces. Still getting set up at home and work has me pretty busy right now. But I'll certainly let you know when I'm ready with either car (I'm running the '65 at the March Meet).
