I'm setting a goal with the shop that we're going to start with an IHRA record. Haven't had that privilege before! Of course Tucson in the summer might not be that easy...
If you do decide to set a record show up FRIDAY with a head off. Do the deal and have them seal the engine bolts after your certified and reassemble the engine for the record runs time frame. IHRA dosent have the man power to do it during the race on Sat. Maybe if more would start showing up then IHRA could bring in more help and get back to the way it was done in the past.

With all due respect, where were those racers and what was their excuse when IHRA did more frequent teardowns?

Thumbs up Re: IHRA teardowns

IHRA also allows you to tear down at the beginning of the year and as long as you remained sealed you don't have to do it again the rest of the year! I have done this the last two years. Very nice idea. Jim

I like tear down before record that way if you have a slight infraction you can correct it and then set your record.

Actually these racers do run IHRA as I have and plan to do in the future. They like IHRA and so do I, however it doesn't mean that they or NHRA are perfect. I made my statement based on the impression that I receive. I wasn't trying to be critical only observant.
