Last year at Topeka NHRA impounded all the pit vehicles they could find without stickers on them in the staging lanes.
Several people thought theirs had been stolen only to find they were impounded. To get the pit vehicle back you had to show up with a sticker or pay a fine. My friends wife who had driven the golf cart to the staging lanes had to walk back to the trailer. He had the sticker but did not put it on the golf cart. He was in trouble with more than just NHRA, but did get the golf cart back by showing up with the sticker. It was funny but not really, if you have been to Topeka and know how far the staging lanes are from the Sportsman parking lot. |

She was also hot in two different ways when she arrived back at the trailer. A bottle of water only cooled her down in one of those two ways. Like I said it was funny but not really and NO ONE Laughed especially her husband. |

Jim, Sean & 63 Corvette... just goes to show what happens when COMMON SENSE isn't used. NHRA could have made all of these situations a non-event for the racers involved, and solved their issues with the non-compliance with a few announcements from the tower (but wait.... they wouldn't have collected any FINES). When will NHRA learn that this kinda heavy-handed "enforcement" doesn't solve anything, it just creates a confrontational atmosphere between racer and sanctioning body.
