Eddie, if you and I are thinking about the same incident, the racer it concerns was asked by a DD not to backup the record because there was no time for a teardown.

That's probably the one.If that's the case then shame on NHRA for not making time available or doing it after the race.I don't know if that would have to be a call from national tech or divisional tech.Anyhow,national tech should let the car/cars be checked and
pay for any extra time incurred for the local tech personnel.Only disassembly and inspection is needed.Reassembly is not necessary.
If you want a record you might have to put up with a little inconvienience.If you're issuing a record,same thing.

REALLY ! What ever happened to sealing a motor and have them tear it down at the
next race ? Lame excuse if you ask me.

If _HRA wasn't afraid of a law suit I think they would be thinking about applying the "Billy Meyer theory" to cut costs right about now.

The sealing paint is to easy to get. Any color and some guys carry it in their tool box in the trailer.
