It's a Superstock motor put in a different year body. I'm building the same motor, it's rated at 304 HP for GT. In a Duster you'll fall higher than GT/HA so you'll need a full certified cage for starts.

Pistons can have notches in SS I think and I think there was an available scoop in a 74, so a live scoop is ok since the 383 had a scoop.

highest weight of a 360 Duster at 3400lbs so it should fall into SSGT/FA, but maybe I did it wrong?

I thought for Super Stock that you can use any intake manifold as long as it is configured the same as the original manifold.

I'm not sure who you're saying should have read the whole post, me or you. I'm trying to figure out the GT weight thing myself but the way it reads on the NHRA site, the 74 Duster has a shipping weight of 3242 max and adding 250 to that =3492. 304 HP X 11.5 factor for GT/HA=3496 which means this car can not run GT/HA as a 74 with the 70 383 and it will have to run a full cage which is what I was trying to say in my first post. The good news is as a 75 it will make the class as the shipping weight is high enough, Paul..
