Still working on my 60 Corvette project, and getting close to putting the body on the frame. The many hours of proper fiberglass repair after years of neglect and poor repairs(barn find that was raced as an old straight axle gasser back in the day) is worth the wait. It's tough when you do all the work yourself. I guess I'm just old school, I believe you race what you can build. Many will never know what that feels like. Here's what I started with, and you can see project photos here on my profile. Click on my name then click on my "albums"
![]() This is how it was delivered to me, right off the truck.....right out of the barn. Here's wishing everyone a great (healthy) 2011 Wade Mahaffey Last edited by Wade Mahaffey; 12-31-2010 at 05:57 PM. |

Should make a cool car, Wade. And you are right, that is one satisfaction a check book racer wil never feel.
Happy New Years.

I am planning on building a '95 Mustang GT for IHRA Pure Stock for my wife to drive.
My ride might possibly be my '87 Turbo Coupe (in my avatar) I bought that car in 1999 to run NHRA Stock, but got sidetracked when the 460 big block bug hit. Last night I took the 460 and C-6 out and now I have a chance to proceed with my original plan....2.3 Turbo-C-4 combo for stock. ![]() ![]()

Thanks Ed and Danny for the kind words. You know, it's killing me not to be racing. I feel the burn in my competitive being, and the fire is out of control. It's everything I can do to not allow myself to take short cuts, just to get out there. It's a constant battle because I have to self motivate at the same time. It's kinda like racing....pump yourself up.. hit the tree hard...now don't run to quick...and don't give up the stripe at the same time! And the rest of the day is "hurry up and wait"! LOL Anyway, I can't wait to get back on the track with you guys.
