NORTHEAST OHIO GEEZER GATHERING TO CONTINUE IN 2011

Featuring the Golden Years of Dragway 42 as seen through the lens of Larry Miller

The NE Ohio Drag Racers Geezer Gathering is being planned for Sunday January 30. This will be the open week between the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl. The Valley Inn in Doylestown, 15004 Portage St, Doylestown, OH will again host the event beginning at noon.

If you missed it last year, it was a full house. Old friends and racers from all over Ohio gathered to share stories (lies) about the glory days of Dragway 42, Norwalk, Thompson, Quaker City, even the old Akron Airport and Howland drag strip. We played home movies filmed by racers of the action in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

For 2011 we will feature the “Golden Years of Dragway 42” as viewed through the lens of Larry Miller, track photographer from 1961 to 1974. Larry will be present to narrate a slide show of over 2000 images taken from 1970 to 1974. DVDs of the slide show will be available for sale.

If anyone has old 8MM or VHS footage from these tracks we’d love to show it! I can convert and edit to DVD format.
