Differ with you, the circus exhibition classes are NOT the bracket cars who've fought hard for an opportunity to win their respective national championship. Bracket racing is still the foundation of the sport last time I checked. They could have gotten them run earlier to be sure but they earned the right to be on the 'big stage'. I also agree they could have done a better scheduling job, they are completely unrealistic about the time it takes to run the alcohol and fuel cars. If the "Garlits rule" had been implemented (have to start 'after' your run or you're disqualified) then you'd have seen better racing all the way around.

Do the people that bitch about the noise, also bitch about the extra money the racers and fans bring in.

You dont see the Stock, Super Stock, and Comp. cars invading the bracket finals do you ! There is only so much track time avaliable so why try to put 10 lbs of s##t into a one lb bag?

Exclamation Re: Pomona on Monday-Stock Eliminator

Replying to ex tech mans post---the only reason I can think of is some bean counter/suit in Glendora saw a guaranteed chance at what $250-300 per pop to let some exhibition type classes in PLUS lets not forget that SUMMIT pays a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$( its called SPONSORSHIP/ADVERTISING) to NHRA for whatever it is they do in "sponsorship $$" for ET classes etc. If John Force wanted to say he wanted to do a Bracket Race for GOLF CARTS at the Winternationals and here is $50,000 plus ya can charge whatever it is per entry dont think for one second NHRA would not grab it and pass up the chance to make another quick coupla LARGE ones---Its all about MONEY for NHRA not what is the best for the racers--My OPINION on this debacle!!!! Looks like Jody Lang has a bye to the final in both Stock and Superstock.

Awesome job.

As a matter of fact they do, in Division 6 at least......Lang(s), Elgin,...etc.

Also, Hefler is doubling up in the Summit deal.

Granted, some are driving different cars, but are "invading" nonetheless....

I wouldn't call it "invading", I would call it racing.......

my 2cents.

But the point is they are there to bracket race at a bracket race event. I do that also from time to time. I dont see any bracket cars entering stock or S/S. Im talking about a limited time frame at a national event where the fuel leakers make the track so it wont rust and the start up times are limited/restricted.

So you're saying bracket racers don't deserve to have their true national championship race at a National Event? I sure hope not.

Yep --at least not one that is specifically being run for CLASSES that you will not see taking part in a BRACKET race championship---wanna bracket race go to the BRACKET RACE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE in Pomona not the Automobile club of Southern Ca. Finals that is/was being contested this weekend
