Well here we go again, the CJ go's 111mph at eighth and 124mph at the finish, that speed would have gone deep into the 9.6 area or quicker, and as for Mr. Kour it's real EZ for him because it's not that hard to wright a check.

Solution has already been devised. Personally, I would love to have a new 428 Mustang one day if the prices ever come down because I think the new Challengers are just fugly. But like someone pointed out, no one watching these cars run the big numbers is standing on the starting line saying "wow, thats awesome, those guys did a great job". Once the factors come around I think it's going to be pretty cool to see '68 and '10 Cobra Jets racing each other. I just don't see the fun in beating someone by a half of a second because of a horsepower factor issue. Granted there are some combinations other than these cars that are off by ten, maybe fifteen horsepower but that's been the case for a long time now and being down a tenth in a heads-up run is not insurmountable in a lot of cases. Class at the Dutch in C/SA was going to be awesome (if it ever got done); old camaro, corvette, 440 6-pack, lt1 cars. Class in A/SA was going to be a joke but had the potential to be a great show with a huge mix of american muscle both new and old if things were somewhere near correct. Oh well, I guess time will tell if NHRA has any answer to this. Stinks to see the trend of guys going to Super Stock, running lower classes, and going to less races because of this.

Here is a quote from Toby Lang at the race.....
"The CJ/DP heads-up race looked like it was pretty anticlimactic. Alan Reinhart sounded pretty surprised about how early the CJ lifted."

Alan is first rate but he also frequently states the top 2 rules of announcing (for those who don't know them # 1 is don't let the facts interfere with good announcing). He knows what's going on...they aren't going to tiptoe into that minefield.

I wish there were more racers on here who paid attention to information available. How fast was Keith at the 8th and 1000ft on his 10 flat run. He would be a better match for the CJ. I can't wait until the V10 is ready. Whine to NHRA. DO NOT. beat up your fellow racers here. Pay back's a b.itch. LOL :-)

Would "picking a better combo" mean picking a better underfactored combo? Seems like that is what is at the top of the qualifying sheets these days. Penciled in hp factor seems to be what it takes to be on top and to hell with the years of hard work, testing, dynoing, etc. In this era the pen is more effective than the dyno.
