The weather for record runs looks outstanding, one of them fast Atco days. Sock it to em Div 1.

Stopped for a midnight snack and fuel at a Sheetz just north of Richmond. 4hrs to go... Hoping to get through DC tonight so I don't have rush hour to deal with in the morning. Been running through steady rain since 10mi south of the VA/NC border. Mostly light, but heavy every once in a long while.

Hope that's a pallet of Klondikes from Sams or Costco! ;-). "How to make friends and influence people". -grin-

See y'all... At some point!

Lots of standing water on some roadways. Take your time, stay alert and be safe! Caused me one good scare, but made it through, and on to the track. Kickin' back for a (very) little shut-eye. Still raining.

Smile Re: Live from Atco , NJ - NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Good morning --- Yep , I see 'em and I've already taken my meds this morning - both cats and dogs coming down bigtime -- been raining here for several hours - very heavy at times - no flooding here but in Philadelphia they have had rivers cresting and flooding of rivers -- seems to me the last few times I've been here the big story is weather not cars .Anyway the rain is to stop by late morning with the Sun peeking out and the drying process will begin then .

Parking - if you're not already here there is plenty of parking to be had - but unless you're an Alcohol or Comp racer its on the sand for you as the paved portion of the pits are packed - after it gets light out I'll shoot a few pics of the sand areas .

Weather numbers -- Barometer -29.41 , temp 71 degrees , 74% humidity , DA 2159 '-- .55 Vapor pressure .

Later ..........

Question Re: Live from Atco , NJ - NHRA Lucas Oil Series

9am update - Still raining here but has stopped in Philly and should here in a few hours .After walking the grounds if I were just coming in I'd go to the return road just past the scales - see pic 4 - plenty dry and on high ground .Michael Beard ( our roving IHRA reporter ) just got in and went promptly to the swamp - then we found some high ground on asphalt - see pic .

Even with all the rain we've had the pits are draining well and are not flooded as bad as I thought they might be and by the end of the day will again be in great shape .

BTW, as I'm typing this it started coming down again - hard , very hard ! !
