Dick,
We had to deal with the Byron curfew at the first US Class Nationals.. just made it!! I would think in this economy the next USCN's will only draw around 300 cars instead of the original 400.

With regards to the idea of having an event or events at Bowling Green:
I don't know of anyone who has complained about Bowling Green being exceptionally expensive to rent. Bowling Green has been extremely supportive of Stock and Super Stock, they've run a combo series for the last couple of years, with support from Comp Cams. The track prep has been pretty good too, and I honestly can't say that about every track we've been to. Bowling Green hosts the big Buick event for a 3 day weekend, that's a independent group that has come back there every year for a really long time. So evidently Bowling Green is doing something they like, a lot. The biggest problem with Bowling Green is it gets really hot in the summer, but then most places in the south do. The solution to that is to try for a date in April, May, late September, or October. The next problem is the fact that NHRA is the sanctioning body at Bowling Green. That actually could end up being a bigger problem than the heat in the summer. If they can put on a couple of big foot brake bracket races at Bristol, then the two biggest obstacles to doing a big class event at Bristol, Norwalk, or Charlotte, would be the sanctioning body and getting the racers to "walk the walk" and show up.

IHRA -.3 Index will not help draw high car count.I thought this was to get as many cars as you can and already this idea would just run more cars off.Remember some cars before NHRA 's gift could at least race as all some could do was run only 3 under. Just my . 02

Danny,
What you are saying is IHRA racers that run off a .3 softer index need to run off that IHRA index instead of the NHRA index. Do you have any suggestions as to how to identify racers that should be allowed to run off the -.3 index? I don't remember the number, but if my memory hasn't failed, at the first USCN we had a very small number of IHRA cars that supported the race. Just a thought: To make the car count even better and include more racers just run off the "old" NHRA index before the -.3. That would allow all the NHRA cars that could only run the old index or .3 under to get out of the garage and race, too. Just my .02.. What do you think?
