I talked to John at the Nat's about this same subject. His suggestion was to run the '64 with the 383, the problem with the 426S is that it must breathe through the same heads and carb as the 383. The carb is just not big enough to allow the extra cubes to breathe, plus the 383 HP is lower.

Thanks for your input Jim. John seems like the guy to talk to. I was going to try to get in touch with him this weekend if he is at Englishtown. I'm only an hour away.If Not, I am going to call him next week. The plan now is to run the 383 with the 64 Savoy and then after two or three years when I know little more of what I am doing, run a Max Wedge combination.Thanks again

Fred, if you are going to be at Etown this Saturday, go by the air shack and look for a 1970 Blue Plymouth GTX ans a 1964 Silver Max wedge car. I will be there.
