I lost a race in S/C up at Lebanon Valley in 2004 that was shown as a .0006 MOV a few years ago.......so I agree the computer goes out to .0000. I ran 8.90 and so did my opponent....he got there first by .0006....

They don't go to the ten-thousandth. The first -.744 is first, second second and so on! The computer puts them down in the order they are run.

The way it has been done in the past at Indy was there are no singles first round. If there is a no-show they will fill it with an alternate and yes the first one that went .744 under gets that spot, that is how it's done in the sportman classes, at least in Stock and Super Stock.

Correct, and I believe as a alternate you can win the money, but no points are awarded.

I believe it was at Las Vegas in 2005 or maybe 2003. The nhra guys produced a print out that showed the winner by .0003. They may not use it for qualifing.

Alternates race for the dough; no points.

Evan, I believe you get the round points less 20 , because you don't receive the qualifying 30 but you get the 10 show up points.
