2011 NHRA national schedule&more on Epping!

Isn't Gateway currently for sale?
Having a NHRA national event at Epping would be great for us up here. The last couple IHRA nationals haven't exactly broken any entry records and I'd suspect that a divisional there will probably out draw IHRA's national event entries.

The prospect of the national event at New England is great news. I wonder what upgrades NHRA will deem necessary for the track.

There was talk a few yrs. back about a Epping-to-NHRA changeover. At the time, I heard that NHRA wanted much more pit area, and much more PAVED pit area, but the biggest change they were looking for was moving the spectator bleachers on both sides farther back from trackside. I was told that this was the biggest change for NED to undertake. Supposedly, there were also a few other changes to be made, but those 3 were the biggest undertakings. Like I said, this is only what I was told....so if it's fact or not, I can't be sure... One more thing--- Racing at Epping in Sept. and Oct. is usually really great...Fall air in New England at a close-to-sea level, good-hooking, smooth track such as they have up there, will surely have the NHRA records falling at will...Joe Lombardo and his crew up there are great.....I wish them good luck.

Look at the first 3 events California, Florida, then Nevada?????????? How do they come up with this???? They must own stock in Diesel fuel!!! Makes no sense, why wouldn't they start on one coast and work across.

I'm going to miss being able to just drive into a national event(Epping).Looks like grade points are back as well as joining nhra,again.

Well you cant go Pomona to Vegas, the Nascar race at Vegas is the week after Pomona

It actually doesn't settle down till e-town....

Cally to Fla to Vegas to NC to Texas to Ga to Kansas to NJ.

I know the NASCAR race is in Vegas but, it's for 1 weekend just bump it back a weekend, didn't there used to be a 3 week gap between Pomona and Phoenix up till a couple of years ago? Plus it's 1 weekend of racing less cause No Saint Louie this year...

The sad thing is all I hear is "We cant race this weekend cause of NASCAR,We cant schedule that cause of NASCAR, NASCAR has a race that weekend so we cant do that,We moved the event because the NASCAR race is that weekend or real close to it" Since when are we subserveant to NASCAR? We are our organization! Yeah you lose some crowds but make NHRA more appealing to racers and spectators alike! Tom Compton and the rest of the glendora boys must be NASCAR season ticket holders cause they make sure we ALWAYS take a back seat to them in everything. Those idiots are gonna kill NHRA and I hope we bought by someone who gives a crap!
