Ronnie how have you been? Still doing the junior deal with the kids? How's the Chevy II street car coming? You did buy one right?

That was way cool! If you look closely, you can just see him use the clutch to shift gears. I could not see what rpm he shifted at. That would have been nice to see. This kind of reminds me of...

We are not getting as much track time as I would like. Most of it has to do with my work schedule and travel. The youngest one has shyed away from it now. This one will go up on the market soon. The middle one will physically outgrow his soon and it will be on the market. The oldest one physcially outgrew them a few years ago and she has not shown the interest, so we never built one for her. Team sports for all of them, basketball and cross country, take up a significant amount of time as well.

As for the Chevy II, we did buy it and it sits in Dad's garage 6 hours away. With the juniors and stuff, I have no room at the house. Dad has begun stripping it down. Sold the motor and trans out of it. We will be selling one of the 283 motors that came with it (not a Chevy II factory short block). We are keeping the other 283 which is the original to the car should we have the desire to restore it to original. We found and bought a 327 Chevy II short block that was being rebuilt with new parts and an original 327/350 cam. We will hold on to the cam and install a Comp Cams hydraulic roller that is comparable. Dave Layer has the heads and factory 327/350 aluminum intake. I have the Holley carb (new) that will go on top. We had to buy a restored front sub frame because ours was too far gone to be repaired (in our opinion) at least for our skill set. The 12 bolt is still under it with a brand new 5:14 gear in it and never raced (the gear is for sale).

We are going to resto mod the car. I am changing out the front end with a Church Boys complete front end, including rack and pinion, coilover conversions and 2 inch drop spindles with 4 wheel discs. I wanted to keep the factory front subframe as I am not interested in an aftermarket front clip. The rear will use Church Boys 2 inch drop multi leafs. I am looking at buying Coys C-5 wheels, Vintage Air Gen IV air conditioning with a Vintage Air frontrunner conversion. Tremec 5 or 6 speed trans and aluminum driveshaft. I have no intention on cutting the rear of the car for a 4 link or tubs. The guys on the Nova websites are cruising around town with 17's without much massaging.

The guys on Nova.net, stevesnovasite and National Nostalgic Nova are a wealth of knowledge. They have experienced what many owners, including me are going through and provide inspiration and good how-to's on various topics. Dad, my son and I attended the Nova Nationals in Gettysburg last month. The show was very nice and they had a pretty good turnout, including 1 of 6 1967 L-79's nut and bolt restoration. It was meticulous.

Sorry for the long winded response. How's your tribe doing and the season?

Stay safe.

Makes me wonder why any of us use automatics. With the price of state of the art automatics we can't use cost as an excuse anymore.

Coolest in car video on YouTube!

By the way, does anyone have a picture of Tony's car? I've searhed all over the web, but all I could find was this tiny one...

Thanks in advance.
