Is there anyone out there that can help me with an Onan generator problem? While racing in the heat, yesterday, my Onan 7000 started to smoke out of the rear of the genset (not from the exhaust). It appears that maybe a rear seal failed. Generator ran good, without any other issues. Is this a problem for the Onan repair people or can this be repaired by anyone with basic engine knowledge?
Thanks, Dan |

I have found the problem. There is a 3/4" expansion plug plug in the top of the motor near the rear. It had popped out. Found it laying on top of the engine.
