That joke pays some pretty good cash to win, and it puts plenty of butts in the seats at the tracks that have them.

I don't understand the apparent need for some folks to trash any kind of drag racing conducted at drag strips that doesn't fit within their world view of what the the sport is or should be. As long as the track operators are pulling in revenue during these tough economic times, racers are showing up to race (and have some fun) with a shot a a hefty payday and spectators are filling the stands (many for the first time at a track), why trash it?

I actually enjoy watcing Pinks All Out and Pass Time vs the all Pro show on Saturday and Sunday's TV. At least I can relate to those cars and their owner's for their hard work and loyalty to the sport.

Edit: If that was Al, hopefully he won some $$$ so he can buy some VHT for his track and loose the title of "Slippery Rock". Suck's going down his track with a 10.0 or faster car only to have your tires break loose around the 100' mark.

Buddy of mine won Indy last year. $10K cash and $8K in NAPA tools. Not bad for a couple days at the track.

I've seen some other big names on Pinks and 'Pass Time'.
