Boss 351 Maverick
455 Stage 1 Omega
RamAirV '73 GTO
SOHC Mustang, Maverick or
Boss 429 '70 Falcon
ZL-1 '69 Chevelle
RamAir IV or V Pontiac Astre
'70 Hemi Duster
440 Duster/Demon with Max-wedge top-end
These are all easily buildable with pretty much factory parts.
Randall AMC in Mesa,Az. built 401 Gremlins & even a few 401 Pacers! Baldwin/Motion built a few big-block Vegas & would build/sell most anything you could imagine. Mr. Norm's pretty much did the same thing in Chicago. Unfortunately the other dealers didn't see fit to do this with their marques, but I'll bet Tasca Ford had a few oddball cars running around.....

HemiCop,
Great A-Body choices,
70' Hemi Duster
70/71 Duster/Demon 40 (Max-Wedge Top-End)
Also, a S/S wish. Maybe a 1968 bare-bones Belvedere with a
440/375HP With some S/S package bolt-ons. Would have made it a
better SS/E runner in 68'.

Would have loved to see Ford put a bigger engine in to the early (61-63) falcons.

We shoehorned a 289 into it, and had to cut both shock towers and the firewall, and respring the front to get it done, we used factory exhaust headers or wouldn't have had to cut quite as much from the towers. And we put an econoline truck rear into it for good gearing. But it came out so good it looked factory stock and we were often thought to be a 260. But it was only thought of as a 260 until we went by them.

Those pesky 273 hipo barracudas still got the best of us though... So now I am a Mopar guy.

But with a bigger motor, and a lot bigger springs to hold it up, it would have been all different...

Mostly I was too early for the muscle car phenomenon, but caught the end of it with a loaded 76 GP 455 that weighed about 10,000 pounds, but still could scrabble your eggs.

62-64 novas with the dual 4's 425 horse 409 4 speed.

65 nova with the 425 horse 396
i feel the nova in 62-64 could have been marketed so well as a dual purpose car. for grandma and the old lady youve got the 4 and 6 popper. and for dad youve got the 283, 327fuelie and for serious grunt the 409 and later on the 396/427.

67 nova with the l88 427.

70 nova with an ls6 454, never heard of or seen one? would of been sweet!

67 gto with the 428 SD 2x4

67-69 firebird with the 428 SD 2x4

71 vega with a 454 4 speed. and even a 350.

440+6 duster's and demon's

boss 429 maverick

283NOVA,

At least a 396/375HP engine should have been put in the 67' Nova..
with the aluminum heads. An absolute 'street monster'.

Wonder, could a 390 engine fit into the 1965 Mercury Comet engine compartment, and be streetable..
If not, a 306HP 289 would be 'kind-a-cute'.

The 68/69/70 Shelby GT-350's should have been eliminated.
The GT-500s should have come through with a dual-quad 428 only.

There are some killer combos here, all buildable with factory parts. What's needed now is a group of guys to build 'em and run 'em to show just how good the musclecar era could've been if Detroit let it all hang out!

If we've moved up to newer cars, how about a (new) LS-7 GTO? or a bare-bones Mustang with the 5.3 (6?) ltr. engine. or just make the new CobraJet drag cars street-legal!
