1967 Chevelle Malibu SS427
A L-72 427/425HP engine. That would have been 'one sweet combo' for the street. Paul |

67 Chevy II with the 427/435hp aluminum head 4spd. Now that would have made some serious cash on the street.

440 6-pack Darts would have been a piece of cake. Engine cradles, exhaust manifolds, radiators, etc. already existed.
Or, to avoid burned plug wires, they could have used a hemi instead. Oh well, at least we eventually got the K-car. Last edited by Ron E; 04-24-2010 at 08:50 AM. |

Paul, I Know for a fact there was a 66 SS Chevelle in our town(Zanesville Ohio) with a factory 427 in it. I was always told it was a 425 horse, and they made like 1100 of them. I don't know that for a fact, but it did have SS 427 Badgeing in the grill and the finders. The guys name was Rambo. It was silver with black interier and a 4 speed.

Since I have a soft spot for the early 1975-1980 Chevy Monza, I think that the 350 4 barrel should have been an available option with factory 4 speed and 1 gear overdrive. Know that the 1975 smogger was in Calif as the 262 would not meet pollution specs...so I don't know why they didn't stick a quadrajet on it and sell it everywhere. Would have one quick little sleeper. Not to mention a damned good class car.
