In Stock and Super/Stock the tubs and floor modifications must be solid welded if the car is steel. Aluminum, Carbon Fiber would need to be bolted and or riveted and that is not allowed. I was told by a very senior NHRA offical that I would have to use steel for a removable trans tunnel (in S/S your allowed 6 Sq. Ft. removable) in a fiberglass car (60 Corvette). I think the Corvette stuff of todays racing is kinda uncharted territory. There aren't that many cars out there. And the average offical just does'nt know that much about them.
