What I want is you guys opp on what oil weight? calls for 5W20 ??? or should I go with 5W30?? I checked the gas mileage today it got just over 31 MPG witch I think is pretty good. I have been a long time fan of Mobil One....most of my new stuff calls for 5-20 so I use it...have not had any problems. Even use it in my bracket cars because it is 1/3 price of Royal Purple.

Thumbs up Re: work car oil input wanted

thanks John. That's what I run too. So no big deal between 5W20 & 5W30. The only reason I ask was I've run 5W30 in everything for so many years....

i don't think your sebring has variable valve timing so it's not gonna be a big deal to use either BUT i'd run the weight that's recomended.
you can't go wrong with just about any synthetic...
but i won't use pennzoil in anything...syn or dino...esp in vw's...they've already got sludge problems

Pennzoil and Quaker State is the same oil and same company and both have sludge issues.
Its the base stock they use according to a good friend who is a oil sales rep.
I had sludge issues with it years ago and stopped using it.
My brother in law had oil pressure issues with his 05 Chevy PU after using Pennzoil in his 60,000 mile vehicle. Upon pulling the pan it had an inch or more of sludge and restricting the oil pickup. Changed the oil pickup and cleaned the pan. Oil Pressure Problem Solved.
He is now using Valvoline and changing it at 1,000 mile intervals to try and clean up the rest of the oiling system.
My 2 Cents

Exclamation Re: work car oil input wanted

If it calls for 5w-20 use only that weight ......We see many of these cars that go to the Quickie lube and get the wrong oil in them. ..........Most of the sludging issues we see on newer engines are due to the use of heavier than specified oils. ...The 2.4 is a variable cam timing engine, and the 5w-20 is critical to proper cam phaser opperation . .......The instructors repeatedly drilled this to us at Chryslers training center........Tom

Greg the 2.4 doesn't have variable cam timing. I had a Status and ran it 160,000 plus miles using 5W-30. That's what Chrysler recomends. Variable cam timing is on the newer World 4 cyl engines.
