I think both the sleds and the ATV's are exciting to watch at the track. The quickest sleds are running low 8's and 160's at both Lebanon Valley and Epping.....Same safety rules as the motorcycles...never have seen one crash in 3 seasons, no oil downs, and just like the Bikes, they go straight and quickly thru their rounds----with less delays than the cars.....You know, their money is also green, and they're helping the track operators pay the bills in these trying times....Bikes and sleds are helping to keep the track gates open weekly at many tracks, for sure....so don't be a hater....WJ

- 2008, at the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham, NC. 535cc ATV on alky went 9.65 @ 126 mph. We have been 10.23 @ 123 mph with a 443 cc race gas ATV, - Most of these vehicles run 1/8 mile and around 5 that I know of run 1/4 mile. 1/8 mile times run deep into the 5s. Most of the ATVs are based off the Yamaha Banshee. A twin cylindered, two stroke, 350cc motor. I really didn't want my first post to be on this subject, but as usual. Someone sparks that interest. Our first love has always been the traditional race vehicle(s) and our priority have been with them mainly. The quad is the last on the priority list and it still provides the most fun. I've been 7s in the 1/4 with a truck and nothing compares to the thrill of the drag ATV. ![]() |

Hmmmm, will the snowmobile, motorcycle and ATV classes ever be over run with entrants? I doubt it; you could combine them and probably not get close to the Super category numbers. So, how much time would they take up?
