I always tell people it may be small crack in block,head,crank but it's not going to get smaller it will only get bigger.
If you have good crank to work with and can get price that they will stick to then I say get them to do chrome work,If there's additional work that has to be done over original estimate and you ok it thats how it supposed to be but if you are give est. then get charged more with no additional work or explanation of why it was more that's wrong.

Don't use them even if they pay you!

Never had a bearing problem or issue in my life until we used them.
Just trying to pick up a bit more.
Like a food we let them fix the first one they screwed up.
4 passes the first and 7 the second time wasted 2 high dollar Crower rods, coated bearings, oil pump, gaskets, scored piston skirts from debri etc TWICE!
Chrome just flaked off the crank both times.
Sent the crank off to a independent for ananlysis to confirm what we suspected.

Never had any bearing problems before or since.
9300 RPM and #9 full time.
