You could use that air scoop as a air catcher for a wind generator.

Over the winter I decided to put the alternator on and just run one batt instead of two.
This past Sat we had a drivers meeting and free T&T (if you signed up for points) I decided to take the car and put no more than 2 maybe 3 passes on it just to check the brakes. So before I left home I put the charger on,got down to 2 amps and I had to go.I left the gen and batt charger at home.Wouldnt you know it,they decided to have a jackpot race.I put 6 passes on the car with 1 batt a stock G.M. alt and no charging. It was still starting fine when I unloaded it yesterday.I would not try this on race day but I was surprised and will never build/buy another race car without an alternator.

Scotty, I am sure with the right pulley ratio you can run a alt at that RPM's. Nascar does this regularly. I do not know what there set up looks like. Does anyone run a cog belt with a alt?

Jones makes a drive setup with a cog belt for circle applications that run high rpm......I used one at 8400 rpm with no problem ......I've used a lot of their drives, there are 1st quality..........They have an amazing ammount of brackets and drives that will work on almost anything. .....http://www.jonesracingproducts.com/kits.html ..........Tom
