I believe the reasoning is that it won't change most people's schedule. Most people were planning on being here next Friday anyway. Also, it's supposed to rain tomorrow. So if they ran it on Monday most likely they would have to finish it on Tuesday.

If you want to race, crash, die or kill people in the rain, then I guess you would be pissed.
 But it's Monday morning and still wet on my streets in north Phoenix. Weather forecast shows sunny Tuesday, overcast Wednesday / Thurs / Fri and rain on Saturday. We've had more rain here in Jan-Feb than we usually get in almost 1.5 years!

Monday 7:50 am -- Raining very hard at the Phoenix airport -- no way would we have raced this morning .................and it has been raining for the last few hours so everything is soaked .
