I am on vacation and stopped by a auto parts store this afternoon to pick up a tail light bulb for the car. While I was there I took a look at some cans of brake clean they had displayed on the counter. They had Brakeclean brand brake cleaner in both a Red and Green cans. The reds did not say anything but the greens in large lettering had "Non Clorinated" on them. So I guess the green cans are ok now but the red is not? Wife was waiting in the car so I did not have time to check carb cleaners out.. I know O'riellys Auto parts in IL just had to take a bunch of stuff off the shelves including thier own house brand of brake cleaner. Gotta love the epa.

When a fine is almost as much as the WINNER of Stock Eliminator gets,it really shows how the payouts need to be increased.

Just looked at my Pyroil Brake Cleaner and it says "Non Chlorinated",so I hope its okay to use.

I did watch the video and at the end is where NHRA has us agree and sign off on it or FORGET entering a race.

The Gators will be interesting as racers are already entered.

Professional Strength without Ozone Depleters
I have a can here says it's non-chlorinated, however lower down on the can.
NOTE: As of January 1, 2009, this product, due to its volatile organic compound content, is prohibited for sale and use in the following states:
CA, CT, DE, IL, MA, MD, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, DC and northern VA. Other Locales may also prohibit its sale or use. Check local and state regulations.
Will there be more to it?

That stuff is a real deal. We use differnet part cleaners that can be recycled, the brake cleaner is not in spray cans, but it's an echo friendly, A few years back there was a form that came with your credentials that had the competitor sign as a 'generator' of waste. That went away. I doubt if this is a big deal, but as suggested the committee whould ask. I will therefore ask Wednesday. Tomorrow is Mardi Gras. Not a day to ask for anything but beer, burgers, beads, and other trinkets.

So, today I was toolin' eastbound on I10 on my way to Phoenix when it hit me: Oh snap! I forgot to enter the race! In a panic I grab my phone to check the time hoping it wasn't 1PM yet. My phone said it was 12:20 and I thought "whew, plenty of time." So I took the next exit and parked along side the entrance ramp. I go to the trailer and get the laptop out and log on to the registration site and bam there it is:

"Mandatory Training Video"

There's no close button, no pause button, no remind me later button. I have to sit through the training video before I can enter the event. It's about 12:30 at this point. After 5 minutes I'm thinking "I hope this video isn't too long." After 10 minutes steam is starting to come out my ears. What if this video is 30 minutes long? I'm screwed then. Luckily the video ended after about 15 minutes and I was able to register.

If you are going to enter a national event and think it might be close if you get in or not I would advise that you log on at least 30 minutes before the grade change so you can get the training video out of the way.

I wonder if there were any people who went to unregister from the event at the last minute and didn't make it because of the video.

The brake cleaner sold at Wal-Mart is "Non-Chlorinated" and listed for sale and use in CA. The NHRA Video listed our oil as "non-hazardous". Wonder where this all got started....... Most of our safety regs are from someones unfortunate accident. Probably someone from the EPA stood in the fuel pits and wondered why his eyes were burning.

Maybe they can hire Al Gore as the competition director. I'm sure all that smoke and nitro methane is causing global warming. How about cats on the hemi cars, hell they already have the ox sensors. I've heard that clutchless trannys cause the hole in the ozone to expand or was it the hole in your wallet to expand. I'm confused, lets have another secret ballot.
