Is Vegas supposed to be wet all day? Also, what is the weather like in the Atlanta area today? The weather map looks rather bad on a.m. news channels....(Fri.) WJ

Its utter crap here....I thought when you went south things were supposed to get warmer....and less crappy weather wise.
Both when we drove home, and when we drove back here, at a point in Ohio it was the warmest and got colder the further south, coming back was unreal. snow through virginia and WV and carolinas, and I got news they dont know how to clear roads. WET and COLD......BAH ! (were actually about 4 minutes out of Atlanta....) |

Yesterdays Vegas class cars so far other than ourselves and the Irving's were Mary Anne Method, Don Keen, Terry Hembree, Dic Geary, Nick Cuzucko, Defranks trailer with 3 cars, Grossi's trailer with 3 cars. 2 SS and 1 Comp car, Abe Loewen, Jeggie, Curtis Coultier, Gene Bichelmeyer ( I know thats spelled wrong) The Zavala's and Chuck Norton although he was not racing. I hope more people show up today for the actual race. As of now, Sat is looking like a wash and we will end up racing sunday.
Its currently 6am, dark, and 52 degrees. Qualifying starts at 8am today. Track was hooking pretty well for us as can be seen thanks to Roger Richards on competition plus. We made I think 8 runs yestarday. I was told that Jeggies car had a valve body issue where when plugging into high gear, the trans would lock up. Other than that, I dont know af anyone who had carnage of any type. All in all I give the track crew an A+ for preperation. They stayed on top of everything all day long. Even had an anti freeze clean up that didnt take more than 10 Minutes. If anything else happens, I'll report it from the track. If nothing special goes on, then I'l wait til later on tonight. With people towing into Vegas w/race equipment from well below freezing areas of the country, I can see someone coming in w/anti freeze in their equipment, but am a little surprised tech didn't make a point of checking that everyone had it drained out before getting out on the track, especially w/so few cars there

Drooze,
The 904 Pro Trans that I use doesn't like second gear Burn Outs because it has a band for second... It is weak there. Dave has always sad Burn out in High gear. Plenty of clutches in that pack to take the abuse.

Check....good to know, it just to me sounded like he thought it was being brunout from first or something....Jerry knows his trannys and does Baja work even Paul at TA was impressed with Jerry knowledge of the new Mercedes stuff for racing (and paul happended to be working on one)T
I was tired last night, I know better, and know Jerry (hemidup) knows his stuff, I was just....braindead. I put, I was braindead last night and misunderstood what jerry was thinking/saying. I like I said should have assumed I was misunderstanding what I thought he was saying. Do you know what your physical weight of trans and coverter are on a 904 protrans ? Were looking into one for "Phase II" Is that what Coughlin is running ? I thought his was a 727 case, can anyone confirm ? |

Drooze,
I don't know what Dave is starting with for the late mod Hemi cars. There are 2 style 727 cases. One for a Big block and a smaller one for a Small block. The 2 Pro Tans I have had from Dave were 727 cases from Small block Chrysler modified with an adapter to fit Chevy bolt pattern and the special (non stock) 904 internals installed.

Gotcha, I know that you can have a "Protrans" done in the 904 case as well, but I wondered what was done with input and output shafts since that along with fluid windage is the obvious advantage (and case strenght) of the 727 case......
Ive heard a few people running the 904 cased protranse 28 tooth, etc. but well have always wonderend ,(and not yet asked) Were setup for a 904 case and I want it to stay that way, Ill "buy" the couple hundreths somewhere else....and I THINK I can... Cheers and thanks Chris Quote:
