Cool Re: How the factory "Package" cars may save Stock

Sean: I race A/SA. I race Div 3 Points meets. I have raced the last four years at Indy as well as a few other National Events. At Indy the last four years I qualified twice, DNQ'd twice. I've spent well over 100K (and I mean well over) on my stocker. And I got waxed by a factory Mustang in the Third round at Indy this year. ( And according to Nitro Joe, it was the best run I've ever made.) And your point is ...?????

My point is...That compaired to you, I have no experience what-so-ever to make any claims or place judgement on the new factory A/FX cars.

You have experience, but I don't see your name every third post, beating a dead horse.

And if you want some experience? I was in the final of class this year at Indy. I run GT/AA, and I was running Frank Grossi. The Mr. Grossi with the 454 in a Sunfire. I too, made my best run this year in the final of class. It was four hundredths short. I'm not on here pitching a fit about big blocks in front wheel drives, or the hp figures being bogus on Mr. Grossi's combo. I, along with my family, are continuing to work on the car, thinking we can pick up that four that Mr. Grossi had us by.

Write letters to NHRA, instead of all of this whining that goes on, with this site. IMO, it's a waste of time.

Sean: I understand what you're saying, but until some of these SUPERCHARGED Factory Cars make their way into SS, and they're in your class, and you get waxed by 3 tenths (and they're playing with you), not .004 flat out...... only then will you gain THE experience !

That's why our family has bought one. Can't beat em' join em! I can honestly say that if I was covered by three tenths, then I'm not doing something right myself.

Besides, haven't they already received some hp? And they will continue to receive. I understand what you're saying, but ClassRacer.com doesn't factor the horsepower!

Yeah....great...Dodge announces the DP Program, the Old Man gets on the list, he tell me get my short car creds cause he cant drive or get his (then he does) and he asks me to build it for him. I do....

For a second....I thought....WOW Were not the Odd Man out with some superstrange Monocoque Ossa or 6 cylinder 250cc Honda or Ducatti Works or some strangness we had to machine our own parts for...........Then Ford Announces the SCJ and gets em to the track faster.

We havent even tracked the car, and already were the underdog with one of these "Ringer" cars or so everyone is calling them, to all the others howd you like to sink a ton of money into something, lots of blood and sweat only to be an underdog from the Get go....

Oh wait...thats what your all saying....hmmm....

Im sure some of you will smile...in a way we are too....we knew somehow having the "Killer" Pacakge was too good to be true for long.....Shoulda bought a Ford

Finally, I have to be honest with myself! After the past seven years of R&D, and picking my combination up one full second, I'm not doing anything right. So, I talked to Mommy and Daddy and we decided to buy one of the New Factory "package" Race Cars. That'll give me an extra 3 tenths. Heck, if I can't beat 'em I'll join 'em. Thanks to everybody that inspired me and for your input on my new project...I'm going out on a limb here, but I think I can be the first stocker in the 8's...( God, I've got to stop drinking potato juice! lol)
