My last move was done by me and me alone. I used 5 one way trucks and trips to get it all moved.
I used 3 different moving truck companies. They all have the same markings of GVW Less Than 26,001 on their biggest truck which I rented each time. Now on one load with a Ryder truck when I moved my shop equipment I am fairly sure the truck was well over the 26,001 GVW but that was by my choice and not the rental company. That is the way the companies get away with it is with their marking and if the customer overloads it that is the customers problem and not the rental companies. I crossed 4 states and did not stop any of the weigh stations and did get by. Just My Take On It |

Truck is registered as a "truck" - Indiana does not distinguish between commercial/non-comm on the license plate.
I will post more information soon - the guys at NTCI are making a trek to Washington DC in search of interpretations and definitions, etc. My Dad explained several different scenarios, including our own, and they are taking this information with them. I will share as much information as possible.

For awhile here in ON the ministry were stopping pickup trucks towing racecars on open trailers and weighing them and checking the combined weight. All pickups here are registered as trucks, same as vans etc without windows, and the only difference is the listed GVW. If under a certain weight(someone fill in the weight) you can get a sticker which states that the truck is mainly for personal use, but even with the sticker you are still subject to weight constraints. Another thing they are looking out for are people who use motorhomes to tow trailers loaded with flea market stuff, as they can consider it as a commercial venture.
