A longer car will be less likely to get out of shape when you start going faster. However, if I were buying a car and staying 8.0's or slower, I would look at a Landshark for trailer space as well as being closer to the front tires to judge the finish line. Nothing wrong with a low HP long car either, just harder to maneuver and trailer. I've had a 250" front suspended, a 225" slipjoint, and my current 245" 4 link, a 4 link or swing arm is the best but a little heavier.
