Brad Haugaard won first round in Vegas and has tied Scott Burton for the lead. How is the tie breaker determined for division championships? Thanks.

I DO believe the first tie breaker is head to head competition, then it's in division points.

I think the first tie breaker is in division points, I'm not positive but that is what I remember.

Confusing no? Case in point, D4 Comp final standings show Adam Hickey and Chase Williams tied for points, but Chase won the division based on the tie breaker. Yet D4 final Comp standings still has Adam listed first because H comes before W. |

This is kind of interesting. For many years, the tiebreakers were all listed in the rulebook. Now,all it says is contact your NHRA division office for tiebreaker procedures.Almost as if they can vary from division to division?
I pulled up the current IHRA rulebook and it says first tiebreaker is most event win points. This will be interesting to follow. |
