Jim,the scoop was an SC/Rambler only functional ram air piece. At least the front fender now has an American script. And the sticker isn't correct either. It should read 225/210.The weight is correct for a 14 lb.
break.But what do I know?LOL

37 years of AMC experience and I've never seen or found documentation of any such car. .......I would'nt doubt some dealer would'nt have put a SC scoop on a car as a sales ploy back in the day tho! ..........Tom

Who was doing the Tech Inspection on these cars? The only Ramblers offered with a Hood Scoop like the one shown, was the Hurst inspired "Scrambler", which was equipped with the 390 cu. in. engine. The weight sticker is the same as my IHRA SS and Garrett Ghezzi's NHRA SS/MA AMX. Garrett appealed to the horsepower gurus at NHRA to reduce the HP from 225 to 210 for SS, and prevailed. IHRA generally follows suit and did so in this case also. Where is Travis Miller?

Travis was at this race, he didn't give this car a second look as he went by from my vantage point. I must say it's the first one I've seen although that doesn't mean much. Joe
