Default What did you think of Indy track prep?

For anyone who was a competitor at the U.S. Nationals, I would be interested to hear what you thought of the track crew. From burnout box to starting line to track prep.

What did you think?

I thought it was killer, nut they drug it before we made each run. In qualifying, it was good for us also.

Thanks for the comments. But 164 page views and only two comments? Didn't anyone else here race Indy?

We had our best E.T.'s and best 60's at indy, driveshaft trace was perfect. Track was far better than at the points meet. Joe

I was curious to see if a thread like this would come up. Studying the results of the late rounds on Monday, I saw a lot of numbers that didn't make sense to me. Didn't know if it was people breaking or spinning. What's the word?

The left seemed to be better than the right most of the time and I didn't make a clean leave in either car until I dogged the dragster with a 4.86 gear, 5000 launch with timing out of the motor, that was the only time I didn't spin and then that was slow... They drug it before Q4 in comp, I don't think they sprayed any glue even from the hand wands or put down any gold dust. I was in my mandatory 3rd spot out and sat there and spun with the 4.86 and 5200 launch, I was baffled it could do that. This is what made me lower the launch rpm and timing for the first round and then the car was really a pig... lesson learned. I don't know what happened to AB 1st round but he usually isn't a tenth off the dial.. And it looked like on Monday the left was worse than the right for first round, just ask Greg Anderson... I guess I'd say now it was like a box of chocolates, ya never know what you were gonna get..

I didnt think my car would ever spin the tires. 283/PG @ 3250 lbs. I lost .08 in 60' in the 5th round. That and my stellar react gave the win to Iacono. I wish I could of had a cleaner race against him. It kills me to lose like that......

You still did a great job, Wade. When you look around in staging and there's only a handful of cars in your eliminator that's a sign of a good job. Considering that it was Indy and the amount of quality cars, you should be patting yourself on the back even for the 5th round.
