In 41 years I have been hanging around no one has ever challenged nhra, no I am wrong. Only once, Pro Stock Truck. New board or new ORG. is needed. nhra has a noose around our necks and we stand and wait for the trap door to open. Something needs to change before they kill the sport all together. 2cents worth

Didn't Garlits challenge them in 1972 at Tulsa?

When Garlits challanged NHRA at Tulsa his association with Wally Parks became quite strained. For many years after that Parks and Garlits just tolerated each other. Garlits was no longer the golden boy of drag racing as far as the NHRA was concerned.

NHRA is being run for the personal benefit of management and the board. Until their is accountability to the members nothing will change. It's beyond my understanding how a 501 c 6 non profit corporation can behave in this way.

Money. Paid to the right people, in the right places, in copious quantities. Corruption. It's a beautiful thing, ain't it?

Last week I was speaking to a friend who reminded me of the Tulsa race and that he was a participant. He was proud and remembered it quite fondly.

They put on a pro-only race oposite Indy. Good turn-out, but lots of dead time between rounds with no sportsman cars. I found it kinda boring. Imho they should have had something to fill in. Most of those guy think they are the only thing that matters.

It was an AHRA race. Jim Tice ran sportsman classes also. I was running Super Stock there. Great race
