I always think these kinds of questions are a waste of time without the most basic piece of information included: "HOW MUCH DO YOU HAVE TO SPEND?"

I don't understand why my question's a waste of time!? I had a damn good engine shop in my area and they closed up. Their engine guy would even come to the track to help tune. He left for Nascar country and there's simply nothing in my area that I've found so far that is comparable in quality of work and knowledge. Also, I have a job that takes up a good portion of my time. So I don't want to travel 800 miles (there always seems to be at least one unplanned extra trip). I just think there has to be a good shop within 200 miles of me...somewhere I can drive to and back in less than a day. I have a decent, (semi!)-competitive motor. It was built in 2006. I've just torn it down and want to freshen it (I rattled the motor once when it was new, and I think I may have compromised ring seal, etc), and at the same time need someone to take an experienced look at the combo and see what I can do to improve. |

Well the question was quite broad. Stock, SS or Comp. Could be over $100K.
And if my matter of fact response kinda pissed you off, you'll have REAL fun racing! ![]()

![]() How much do you have in your engine? I think 20-30k is probably more realistic for Stock Eliminator but I may be a bit naive. Less if you have access to the right tools, are a bit lucky, and you work your *** off. I've been racing off and on for 20 years now. It can be fun but sometimes can be an all-day plane crash. I think I wouldn't mind putting you on the trailer, though ![]() |
