Good morning! It is another beautiful day here in Norwalk. It has cooled off a lot. Only supposed to be in the 80's today. It is 74 now. Stock runs first at 8:30, then sg, sss, sc and then round 4 of all.
Last night after the pros ran, there was a great fireworks show. Everything ran so well yesterday, that it was still daylight for the show. About 30 minutes later, it would have been really nice. I haven't said much about the facilities here, but it is really nice. We are in the grass, but the roads are all paved, which makes it really nice. We went over to the pro side yesterday for that pound of ice cream for $1. They were not nearly as crowded as they were for the divisional here last month. But they have the motorcycles over here with us. There are lots of campers who were pretty noisy late last night. But we went on to sleep anyway! Well more later. Have to get ready to run our neighbor. Patsy |

Well Larry got a little anxious this morning and red-lighted. So good luck to Jerry Bennett. Maybe a red car from Hickory, KY can win this thing instead of a pink car from Hickory, KY. Good luck to Paul Boster also. Winners this morning: Bennett, Boster, Jennifer McCormack, Simpson in the heads up run against Welker, Truman, Edmond, Antrobius,Pires, Baehr, Fetch, Lisa, and Taylor. Mike Fuller's battery went dead in staging. Larry has gone up to tow him back.
More after we get on the road. Patsy |

Sorry i didnt get around to see most people, between the heat, the work we had to do on my buddy's SG Pont LeMans (Broke trans bigtime!) and taking care of the parents 3 cars,i was whipped everyday and ready for my Mt Dew/Jack mix mug.
Hope none of you got robbed like my friend Alex Miller did (SG racer)someone walked into his dad's RV, took all his money out of his billfold and credit cards, by noon Thursday they went to Norwalk K-Mart and Walmart and rang up over $700 in charges. Sad thing is i heard of others getting hit also. Really sad now you have to worry about theft at the race track and if we could of found the person that did it we would of made him wish he never seen a track before. |

Did anybody else find trying to dial your car pure hell at Norwalk?
We went 3 rounds with SC car and 2 with SG car but it was a guessing game on setup. |

That has been going on at Norwalk since way back in the IHRA days. Was really bad when they tried to park all same classes together .When a class was called there was no one in pit area to watch over all these rigs. They knew when to hit. They have to find something to do til the PROS run. Ditto on what X- TECH man said.

It does not just happen at Norwalk. Last year at the Atlanta national event, at least two people had things stolen from their motorhomes, for a total of $3-4K.
We were pitted right next to the campground at Norwalk, we kept the motorhome locked when we left. We kept the keys to the golf cart locked away too. There was a good mix of racers in the pit areas, we had a S/G car on one side, a S/C dragster on the other, and a couple of S/S racers close by as well. Most of the spectators are good people too, it's just that there are thieves in most every crowd. From what I understand, Norwalk may have worse problems with thieves because of the close proximity of campers to racers, but like I said, there have been thieves at plenty of other tracks. Yeah, it'd be nice if a couple of the scumbags got caught and ended up toting an *** whipping for their trouble. It'd send a good message.

We have been lucky, but I was thinking of buying a small firesafe big enough for wallets' cell phones, etc. They are cheap to buy and cn be bolted down in a trailer or rv.
They still hang horse thieves don't they?
