I would agree with that...No new points for those who didn't attend in June but open the fields up to everyone.

I'm with Pete and Gary, the Wally and Dead Presidents are where it's at.

I was there and I did sit in the Rain with everyone else. I had a good feeling the race wouldn't be finished. But I do agree that the field should be opened, for many reasons:

1) NHRA has been complaining about low car counts, well this is a good way to change that
2) people who were not able to attend the past date will be able to go and have fun and race.
3) It makes no difference as far as who you race, because it is random anyway.

If we are going to penalize people then should we not allow the people who left before they called the race not allowed to compete in October.

It is all pointless, Lets let everyone race and have fun, what is the big deal? I sat there and waited and didnt race, but i will not get mad if someone else comes in and kicks my butt, if that happens I should have ran a better race.

Maybe the people who were not entered before do not get a time run, but the people who did sit in the rain ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE A TIME RUN. That would be fun!

Yes, I am afraid of tougher competition, more rounds & afraid I will be using more fuel and all of the above.
After all I just get lucky once in a while.
I just look at it like this, the ones who stayed home were already planning on doing that and the ones who wanted to or could race did just that or attempted to. If its all about helping the NHRA & the Tracks in some peoples eye's then they should have helped them the first time, oh but i forgot some people have a life outside of racing how dare they...

Without beating a dead horse (this will be my last reply) I don't think the people that stayed home because they just spent 5 months @ the national event in E-Town, and didn't want to blow $300.00 in motorhome fuel to go sit in the rain (because everyone knew it was going to rain) should be penelized, I also don't think the track should be penalized either when they have the chance to make up some money. I don't think we should have all the benefits as the people who showed (no points for us) but were going to be there anyway....let's just race.

What about the people who attended last week but can't go in the fall?? No one has mentioned them.

There is no way everyone will see eye to eye on this, but I know if I was there, i would have no problem with other racers racing. What about how unfair it will be to race a car in the second race that has already been down the track 10 time in 2 days?

Wow , why dont you say what you really feel. But I agree, Honestly I wasnt going to Atco this past weekend anyway but Oct is a whole different ballgame.

I guess some people will def have more hits at the tree and track then I will but F...it, I'll still play.

I'd even race the 1st race with no time shots,

My .02...I didnt go cause like Pete said I just spent a week sitting in the rain at E Town, and the forecast was really bad...

I WAS planning to go to the October race, but with this reschedule..now I'll have to get there thursday or else I'll have to pit over at the round track or down the return road, then sit there all day friday with nothing to do, maybe they will finish the race friday, maybe not...then sometime Saturday (probably like 5 oclock for Super Gas) start racing..

No thanks...

I can see both sides of the open/not open fields, but what if you were planning on showing up saturday (like many do) and because it rained you didnt go, and now you can't play...doesnt make sense, but when does NHRA make sense...

I cant wait to see what the pit situation will be in Oct. ...Word is that the Alcohol cars will be there to finish, leaving the Top Class racers to go where???. ...... Would'nt suprise me to see Top dropped from the Oct race, since the schedule on the D1 web site calls for race 1 to complete on Fri. after 1 time run, and race 2's elim to start after 1 time run on Sat. ...Not much time left in that schedule for Top qualifying runs .......Tom

LIFE OUT SIDE OF DRAG RACING? What is this thing you speak of Deb? Is it also called work? Otherwise I cant see what you could be referring to.
1) eat
2) sleep
3) work
4) race

could you let me know what you are talking about?
