Joliet typically sells out the first day that the race dates are posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try morrison ill about 18 miles west of joliet and prices are generally lower too-- if you stay on the west side of town joliet and others i'll tell you the quick back way to avoid race traffic---comp 387

I had good luck last year staying at a best western in the town of Monee, which is southeast of the track. There was also a super 8 nearby. The truck stop next door had good food. I seem to recall it was about a 20 minute drive from the track. Because it was in the opposite direction from most of the traffic there was never a jam. There was not a lot of nightlife nearby, if you're into the party thing.

That is actually Morris,IL. Morrison is way up NW in Illinois.
