The recent extreme government changes in policy, taxes & economic interferance are effecting many, if not all, of us negatively. It's a trickle down effect if not directly.

Plus all the "sky is falling" media hype is fueling the economy's slow down as well.

What happens when the economy is sliding downward: Many people are cutting back, saving their money, and conserving. Others are simply unemployed or underemployed with this all being directly linked to the very real change in the economy and the fear of more of these changes to come.

I am doing OK so far, but I have also had to reorganize priorities, so that I can continue to race.

Unhappy Re: Car Count

Our personal situation is I was laid off the day after the US Nationals. Finally obtained new position in April and due to training and no vacation time now we are unable to attend. Next year we should be back, hopefully.

Ditto here! Company Tom worked for was sold Feb. '08. We went racing not knowing how bad things would get with the economy. Luckily, Tom got a job at S & W Race Cars (need anything? - call!!) and have now relocated to PA. Spending most of this season regrouping, will hit a few races - I hope - and then back out next season!!!

I'm racing less because I relocated to Pittsburgh from Buffalo and bought a new home. To blame Obama for our current situation is rediculous....but the Dems don't get off scott -free either. I agree with the "Sky is falling" mentality....Do your own budget balancing and race when you can...pick the races worth going to...and kick butt when you get there
