I agree with not showing up will hurt them the most....here's an idea get Atco to host a .90 Gamblers weekend or (series) like the Mitchell Races. Now that would be cool.

Here is a thought. How many people would be willing to pay 10.00 to be part of a full page ad in a local paper at the same time an event is taking place, voicing the displeasure of how the back bone of drag racing ( the sportsman racers ) are being treated in these times of financial difficulties. I am sure there are some people on this board that would be able to write something that is politically correct and get the message out at the same time

Would a title of "Hey NHRA!" with a graphic of a hand with only an extended middle finger be construed as politically correct?
I know some good artists...

Better yet take out a full page ad in National Dragster.

Freddie;
You would never get an ad like that in National Dragster. They would refuse to place the ad, and if you're lucky they would return your money. It was always funny to me how Roger Gustin would buy an ad in ND for the Super Chevy series and it would list the races on their schedule, but when the race was to be held at a IHRA track the state the track was located in would be listed but not the name of the track and the ad would read "call for location".

Your close. I don't know if any of you remember the National Challenge back in 70 or 71 I think. Garlits and most TF cars held the race aganist Indy and did pretty well and got some concessions from NHRA to stop it. I run SC and SG and will not be at Atlanta this weekend,Bristol or Indy and Atlanta and Bristol are very close and I love to go there but this price increase is wrong so I will do my own thing and hope others follow their minds. We have a new Pro Mod car and ran the ADRL race at So Ga this pasr weekend and thats the way to be treated so anybody want to buy a complete SC and SG deal just let me know. Boycotts don't work because many won't go along so if your heart tells you not to go then don't but if you really want to go then go that's the great thing about living in the USA. At least for now.

WOW!!!...... Mike Pliska has come up with a great idea........ after all, we do all participate in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series........ and where did Morgan Lucas and Shawn Langdon come from??..... our back yard......
One problem we face, and we all know it, is that we all want to race and we all want to be part of the BIG SHOW...... me included....... so the boycott idea is not a good one because not all would participate....... and those who do would probably end up worse off than we all are now...... just judging by some fines and lifetime bans that were doled out some years back for unruly behavior....... I would be all for strategically placed banners to be erected during the Pro (TELEVISED) sessions...... especially if they are live....... and it would fall under the Freedom of Speech Act, therefore not illegal........ I would also be in favor of, and assist in paying for, one page adds in any publication that has anyting to do with NHRA or auto racing in general....... BUT...... John DiBartolomeo is absolutely right when he says the pen is mightier than the sword....... flood Lucas Oil and NHRA with letters, and I truly believe we will be heard....... And someone brought up "where is Sportsman Racing headed"????...... in my opinion, withing the next few years, Sportsman Racing at National Events will consist of TA/FC, TA/D, T/D, T/S, S/C, S/G, and maybe S/ST...... you will not see Stock, S/S, or Comp........ NHRA will cut down on tech staff and still have the fillers....... Pro Mod will still be considered an exhibition class cause it costs NHRA less....... and don't be surprised if the alcohol classes have to pay entry fees in the future......... |

You are more correct about where sportsman racing is headed at NHRA NATIONAL events than you know.
