I use one and like it a lot, along with their guages that include digital read-out. Their reports for the data are also easy to understand/see on a laptop. It takes a little bit of time initially to get everything working. Overall I would say their instructions are very good. Technical support is excellent. It has been extremely reliable, no problems.

The new Racepak Sportsman version is $699 and it looks real nice.No wires from the car to PC,uses a SD card like in your digital camera.

Would not say these are most important, but they are some of what I monitor and track, in no special order:
o Engine RPM;
o Battery voltage;
o Carb Fuel Pressure;
o Fuel Pump Pressure;
o Oil Pressure;
o Oil temp;
o Trans temp;
o Water temp;
o Trans pressure;

Would suggest if possible that you view the system you are interested in, at a race, see if someone who has one will let you look at the data you are thinking about monitoring.

Also, identification of your data needs is a first step, which can be for several purposes, such as history( change in oil pressure can indicate a developing problem) or optimizing performance ( fuel pressure could be low at launch). Another example is very accurate RPM data can show engine issues. Areas you are doing R & D, and need to monitor what effect changes have. For me I have learned a lot.

Hope this helps.
