Default 5 point harness question??

I'm getting ready to order a 5 point harness for my Duster, my
question has to do with the mounting of the main seat belt part.

There are two types:

(A) It bolts to floor with a through bolt into the stock mounting hole
in the floor.

(B) It has a snap ring type attachment that snaps onto a "I" bolt
into the floor or mounting hole.

Is one better or "more legal" than the other??

Open to comments and opinions.

You can kind of have the best of both worlds. I have the snap on belts but I have some eye-bolts that I think came from Simpson that screw into the stock mounting brackets. You have the strength of the stock mount but its easy to take them out to be recertifed or changed.

Good Luck,

as long as the belt bracket is not bent or inline with the webbing, any mounting will do. on my chevelle i had to weld a mount down low on the main hoop of the roll bar. btw mine are bolted thru the bracket

Just got off the phone with Team Simpson, they will not recertify they're belts anymore.

Thanks all for the replys.

I am dealing with Crow Industries since they are local to me
and they do re-webbing. They said $45 for a latch link setup
a bit more for the cam release units, and about 2-3 day turn around.

Business might be a bit slow, I dropped off the set of belts
at Crow Industries this afternoon at 3:30 PM and I was told
they would be done by 10:00 AM tomorrow.

Very nice turn around service.

Some companies such as RCI will recertify other brands. Usually the cost is almost what you can get new latch belts for, however. It is worth it for camlocks. RCI offers a Platinum series of belts in that color that come with a re-certification card so for $20 s&h they will recertify their platinum belts giving you 4 years on them.
