I owe my racing S/SS to these guys racing these cars and to the track owners of yesterday that allowed us teenagers to stand right behind or next to these cars as they staged and launched (damn insurance companies took all the fun away!). Watching the Knobloch - Yancer - Faulkner '63 Vette with one of those high windin' SBC and a stick and the tach clearly visible from the rear window pegged at 11K or more.
That's what got the blood moving and made me want my own someday.
My engines are now built by Bud Yancer of MACH Development. Yep, same guy!
