The guys ( NHRA ) were in Auburn Hills yesterday for a final look and it's a done deal. This is going to be good HEMI vs. COBRA JET, let the whining begin...Luke

If they build a new Camaro for SALE to the public, there WILL be a camaro to race the "other two"
Some one will build one or 10 or 50 what ever it takes.
From what I heard it is gigantic compared to the old ones so maybe just put them all in TOP/STK and let them see if a 69 Camaro can handle them... I could see me being re interested in racing if that could happen. I imagine someone would like a new Vette better but A camaro would be a more parallel car.

So far, I haven't seen a new hemi I would call fast. 13 seconds off the show room floor at best. Do they have something new? The new Cobra Jet would turn one of those things every way but loose.

Ed,

FYI,

"Judy was .08 quicker at the 1000 so she would have ran a 11.16 or faster. corrected to sub 10.50."

This was from a post in reference to the race Judy Lily had with Don Garlits at the Mile Highs.

Hey Ed, The production version of the Challengers is no where close to the Drag-Pak version. The Drag-Pak cars will be very close to the CJ's in ET. In testing, they went 10.0's with a weaker pump gas engine than the production "race" version. The new engines will have more power. Not to mention the fact that none of the esteemed Stock car racing guru's have hade time to tune on the car. Just wait until it gets into some gifted hands, and you'll see numbers equal to that of the CJ. The other good thing about the Drag-Pak is that its being offered with two engine options. You can get the wedge and run in a lower class, or get the hemi and run higher. Racer gets to choose.
