September 1994 I drove from Phoenix to Denver by myself. I think it was another #1 qualifing time. Set the A/FS record @ 13.26 in the same vehicle, cylinder head / intake tear-down. Drove the car to the motel that night & lost 1st round the next morning with a quicker than record time. Then drove the car back home. It's a 14 hour drive each way. Had a NM DPS officer in his Mustang chase after me for two miles as I was doing 85 in the rain on the way home. He wasn't happy with my "put it in passing gear" next time response....
Top that!
But congradulations on the win, I guess that does top a record!

I can hear some Highway Patrol official now "We need them cobra jet cop cars to keep up with what the factories are putting on the street"
(with all of the officers grinning in the background )
An easy way to produce the minimum cars required.

Thumbs up Re: So what are everyone's thoughts on.......

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the kind words. It was a great weekend for sure. After the Gators I will drain all the $12 a gallon VP fuel put the street tires back and drive this car on the street the rest of the year. I do tow it to the races in case something breaks, and the luxury of the RV is nice over a 3-5 day event.

I have spent alot of time listening to all you guys on how make a stocker fast by re-applying weight, rotating mass, suspension, etc. and I really appreciate how nice and helpfull everyone has been that I have met. I am truly humbled to listen to alot of you and the vast knowledge you guys have on how to squeeze every little HP and E.T. out of these cars. I really love the class for the challenges it presents and the science of how to make a certain combination work. Its alot more fun for me then my S/G car.

The fact is that I am 2-4 tenths slower in my all out mode than any other D/SA that I meet in thier bracket mode, which I found out the hard way in Bradenton 2 weeks ago when strickland showed me how a D/SA really runs first round in our heads up match. I will do my best to get out of the other D/SA guys way and just get to footbrake bracket racing, which is what I love to do.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando.

Jeremy Preston

Jeremy, I think you should keep running stock. I love what you are doing with the car. As a matter of fact dad and I are considering doing the exact same thing soon. I think it would be alot of fun and alot less work, lol

Excellent! I guess it proves how important the driver is eh? Good job!

Lucky you don't drive a new mustang though...that would be proof for the anti-cj crusaders!
LOL!

Stay away from heads up and hope to see you there again.

LOL, I meant within Stock eliminator, with the exception of heads up runs it is just footbrake bracket racing. Just got to figure out a way to get a 50 MPH tailwind to go down just my lane for those heads up runs, LOL

Thanks again,

Jeremy Preston

Chad,

An '07 without the blower. If NHRA reduces the blown version to 425 hp, I'll have one that day.

Are you heading to Orlando?
